Activities in Field Experiences
In field experiences at Whitewater state park and Pine Island EcoliteracySCHOOL students were able to build ecological literacy and mentorship relations through various activities.

Kayaking
This was done in a part of the Mississippi river. This was an opportunity to build teamwork skills and learn about the role that bodies of water play in our ecosystem.

Wild Cave
This was done just outside of Altura, Minnesota. The experience allowed for education about how caves formed and how they have been used by both humans and animals.

Hiking- Chimney Hill
Hiking Chimney Hill in Whitewater state park was a great teambuilding experience and the views allowed for moments of reflection.

Fire Safety Education
This experience was conducted by Whitewater state park naturalist Sara Grover who demonstrated the importance of fire safety when camping and fire safety in the forest in general.

Hiking the Elba Fire Tower
The hike up was a great teambuilding experience, and the views were extremely beautiful from the top of the fire tower.

Waste Disposable Education
Through this experience we gained an understanding of the importance of waste management, and the effects that improper waste management has on our environment and each other.
